Crosshair

• Some additional information about the new crosshair system:
  • The new crosshair thickness and length units are in pixels. In the past, the values were defined with an arbitrary scale and converted to pixels based on display resolution so the same value would result in different pixel counts at different resolutions. With the new settings, if you want a 1-pixel wide crosshair with a bar length of 8 pixels and a gap of 4 pixels, then you would set: thickness = 1, length = 8, and gap = 4. 
  • Please be aware that the new crosshair system automatically rescales pixel counts when the display resolution changes. For example, if a crosshair was configured at display resolution 1280×720 with a thickness of 2 pixels and then the display resolution changes to 2560×1440, it will now automatically rescale the thickness to 4 pixels so that it remains proportionally the same as when it was configured.

• Added option to draw half-outlines. This will only draw the top-left portions of the outline for a crosshair.
• Fixed a bug preventing 0 gap width from being respected.
• Added a static square crosshair style
• Reduced the minimum dynamic spread distance to 64 pixels. The new dynamic crosshair styles will show you the real weapon spread and inaccuracy and the ‘Dynamic Spread Limit’ setting is a limit on how far the crosshair will spread at maximum inaccuracy and spread. There is a baseline spread distance of 64 pixels which covers the weapons with the largest spread so that players can better understand how accurate they actually are with their equipped weapon.

• Battle arenas are randomly selected for each match, so no two matches are the same.
• Control the tower when you eliminate the enemy team (or time expires) to win the round.

Gameplay

• Players can now reload silently (but slowly) by pressing and holding the reload key.
• Un-scoping a sniper weapon no longer produces a sound.
• Globally increased visual clarity and improved fidelity of bullet impact decals.
• ammo_grenade_limit_total setting now also enforces the total number of grenades a player is allowed to purchase in a round.

The CS2 animation system has been updated to Animgraph 2, which reduces CPU and networking costs associated with animation.

• All third-person animations have been re-authored, and in several cases adjusted in response to player feedback.
• Smoothed in-air crouching transitions in first and third-person.
• In support of Animgraph 2, the logic adjusting player height on sloped surfaces has been refactored.
  • Player height on ramps is now consistent and no longer depends on approach direction.
  • As a result of this change, grenade lineups on sloped surfaces may have changed.

Engine

• Updated engine code to the latest version of Source 2.

Cs Script

• Added function GetRoundRemainingTime.

[ GAMEPLAY ] 

• Player occlusion now uses a GPU query to prevent players clipping through thin walls when none of their bounding volume is visible.

[ GAMEPLAY ]

• Reloading has been refactored to encourage more careful consideration of the use of ammo. When you reload a magazine-fed weapon, all remaining ammo in the magazine is discarded and a new, full magazine is taken from the reserves.
• Reserve ammunition is now represented either as number of magazines, shells, or bullets, depending on the weapon.
• The fill-level of the current weapon is now displayed below the ammo count.
• Tuned reserve magazine counts per-weapon.

[ MAP GUIDES ]

• Limited map guides are now available in Competitive and Retakes (first 5 rounds of the half, 30 node max).
• sv_allow_annotations_access_level supports 3 values: 0 – disabled. 1 – limited view. 2 – full and editable.
• sv_annotation_limits_max_rounds_per_half (default 5) determines how many rounds into the half guides are allowed. -1 for unlimited.
• Minimal starter map guides have been added for all Active Duty maps.

[ WORKSHOP MAPS ]

• Friends playing a Practice or Workshop map can be joined through the friends menu if they have Open Party set.

X-ray Scanner

• Players in Germany and Netherlands will have an X-Ray Scanner tab in their Inventory. For those players, containers can only be opened via X-ray Scanner. The X-Ray Scanner will come preloaded with a one-time exclusive non-tradable “Genuine P250 | X-ray”, which must be claimed before using the X-Ray Scanner to reveal items in other containers.
• Keyless Containers, like Souvenir Packages, can be opened without the X-Ray Scanner.

Dead Hand Collection

• The Dead Hand Collection is now available, featuring 17 finishes from community contributors, and including 22 all-new gloves as rare special items.

A Call to Arms-ory

• TrueView does not reconstruct the precise timings of rendered frames, so some differences between the original player’s experience and TrueView playback will remain, especially in very slow motion playback.  The player’s frame at the time when the mouse was clicked, which is used for hit registration, is shown accurately to the nearest demo playback frame. However, reaction effects such as recoil, muzzle flash, blood splatter, and ragdoll are delayed while playing the game by one or two frames due to the way CPU and GPU work is pipelined, and will not appear at the same time during demo playback.
